We are furious about the unprecedented national private school voucher proposal that Christian Nationalists snuck into the House bill. We need to make sure this proposal is not included in the Senate bill.
Funneling billions of taxpayer dollars to private, religious schools will do egregious harm to public schools and the millions of families that depend on them. They call it “expanding choice,” but really, it creates more choices for Christians and weakens the public schools that serve EVERY child equally - and teach them more effectively - than private schools. This program would be an absolute disaster for quality public, secular, and accessible education in our country.
Just as the inhumane cuts to Medicaid and the SNAP program in the bill are rightfully getting the attention they deserve, we need you to make sure this effort to use our tax dollars to subsidize religious private schools is getting the same level of scrutiny.
The Senate knows that these policies are unpopular, and they are uncomfortable with the House’s bill. Let’s remind them that their constituents are watching; and that we will hold them accountable.

Your emails are read by staff, and when there’s an outcry on an issue, senators hear about it - and can change their minds.
