Representative Ansari and Representative Huffman – both proud members of the Congressional Freethought Caucus and supporters of freethought – are gearing up to introduce a resolution that clearly and proudly proclaims congressional support of the separation of church and state.
That’s where your support comes in - contact your Representative in the House and urge them to sign on as an original cosponsor of this important resolution before it is introduced on September 29, the 150th Anniversary of President Ulysses S. Grant’s September 29, 1875 speech in which he underscored the importance of free thought, free speech, and religious liberty for all citizens.
The more support the resolution gets, the bigger impact it will have.
More than ever before, we must demand that the people who represent us in government reaffirm their commitment to the First Amendment and Constitution, and take actions that protect and strengthen the secular nature of our government.
