Vote Coming Soon - Tell Your Senators to Oppose a Slate of Voter Suppression Bills!
Congress is trying to do everything they can to pass voter suppression legislation, and last week, the House of Representatives bucked the usual process to pass the SAVE America Act. With a Senate vote coming as early as next week, we urgently need you to tell your senators to strongly oppose this legislation and any further attempts to ram voter suppression measures through.
In addition to the SAVE America Act (H.R.7296), they've got their eyes on the SAVE Act (H.R.22 / S.128) and the Make Elections Great Again Act (H.R.7300). These bills, deceptively proposed as ‘election integrity’ measures to ‘secure elections,’ are vehicles for voter suppression that will weaken free and fair elections.
Our vote is the most powerful tool we have to help ensure that every American has a say in the decisions that impact their communities and lives. But freedom and democracy are not guaranteed in America; these principles have to be actively fostered and protected. Yet once again, the majority in Congress is trying to make voting inaccessible to already marginalized communities by pushing legislation that disenfranchises voters by making them jump through needless hoops.
We need to make it easier to vote in our country: not harder. Take just one minute NOW to tell the Senate to soundly reject these measures.
