Center for Freethought Equality PAC Endorses Seven Leaders for State and Local Office
“These leaders understand that effective governance depends on evidence, science and true separation of religion and government”
WASHINGTON – The Center for Freethought Equality (CFE), the advocacy and political arm of the American Humanist Association, is proud to announce its PAC’s latest endorsement of seven candidates running for state and local office across Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Florida and New Hampshire.
This slate brings together humanist, atheist, agnostic and allied leaders fighting to protect church-state separation and safeguard public institutions in their communities:
Dr. Angel Algarin (Maricopa County Special Healthcare District Board, District 3, Arizona): Dr. Algarin is an open agnostic.
Sen. Janice Marchman (Colorado State Senate, District 15): Sen. Marchman is an ally of our community.
Luann D'Agostino (Delaware State House, District 23): D’Agostino was raised Catholic.
Joe Jasper (Delaware State House, District 23): Jasper is an open atheist.
Susan Leff (Florida State House, District 59): Leff is a religious ally.
Rep. Paul Berch (New Hampshire State House, Cheshire 6): Rep. Berch is a religious ally of our community.
Adam Thompson (New Hampshire State House, Hillsborough 6): Thompson is an open agnostic.
“From first-time candidates like Joe Jasper in Delaware to proven champions like Representative Paul Berch in New Hampshire (who is poised to chair the State House Judiciary Committee), these leaders understand that effective governance depends on evidence, science and true separation of religion and government,” said Fish Stark, Executive Director of the Center for Freethought Equality. “We are proud to back these candidates and know that they will defend civil rights and keep religious dogma out of public policy.”
